The visit highlighted the proactive efforts of local police officers in tackling issues such as burglary and shop-lifting in the area.
The Commissioner and officers also outlined work done as part of the Safer Streets Summer initiative . The Home Office initiative, led locally by Police and Crime Commissioners, Chief Constables and local authorities brings together police and partner agencies to target reductions in town centre theft, street crime, and antisocial behaviour through high‑visibility policing and public engagement.
Following the visit, PCC Clive Grunshaw said:
“It was great to meet Patrick in Tarleton and hear how officers are engaging with and policing their local community. Their work is a fantastic example of neighbourhood policing in action, officers who understand the issues in their area and are proactive in addressing them.
“I am pleased to see how officers are working across the county to combat issues such as anti-social behaviour through Operation Centurion and retail crime through Operation Vulture.
“A key part of my role is working with those who know their areas best and engaging with local MPs is an important part of ensuring we deliver the best possible policing service across all parts of Lancashire.”
